City Administrator Kristi Northcutt submitted her resignation to the Mayor after the March 3, 2025, City Council meeting; City Council and staff were notified the following day.
Northcutt has served as the City Administrator in Lindsborg, Kansas, since December 2021 after being unanimously selected by the governing body at that time. During her tenure, she led numerous transformational projects, including a full renovation of the city’s Public Safety Center, the awarding of an $8 million KDOT bridge removal project, over $2.5 million in grant awards, and the completion of a $3.5 million public-private childcare center. She has also overseen major infrastructure and community enhancement initiatives, such as expanding the city’s electric substation, implementing a floodplain project, and advancing new housing developments and recreational spaces. She will remain in her role until May 2.
After she departs the City, she will serve as the Director of the University of Kansas Public Management Center. The KU PMC, housed within the School of Public Affairs and Administration, provides professional education and leadership development programs and events for public service professionals across Kansas and beyond. “Kristi’s leadership in developing and implementing innovative programs in the public sector and higher education reflects the PMC mission to cultivate excellence in public service professionals and strengthen communities,” shares Maja Holmes, Director of the School of Public Affairs and Administration.”
“Kristi has been invaluable to our city. We wish her the very best as she uses her talents in a way that benefits the entire state,” said Mayor Clark Shultz.
The search for Northcutt's replacement is underway and the search committee will be led by the Mayor, City Council, and staff. There is no timeline to when her successor will be hired, but the search committee hopes to have someone in place soon.
