Goal:
The goal of the Convention and Visitors Bureau is to ensure that visitors to Lindsborg have the most enjoyable experience possible. They are a clearing house of information on events , organizations, and local businesses. Visitors get help with their lodging needs, dining options, and entertainment choices. We met our friends in Lindsborg this morning and had a FANTASTIC DAY. We met at 9:30 a.m., checked out a few stores and decided to do the Dala factory first. It was a good idea as the lady that paints shared wonderful information and we also discovered the surreys with the fringe on top. We did a foursome on one of those which gave us a tour of the city and lots of friendly waves from what we assumed were locals.
All that exertion called for something to eat so we went to a little shop on the corner and had Swedish pancakes, etc. Then we drove to the Mill. Wow, what a bargain for your $2.00. With purchases in hand we departed. We enjoyed it all and may want to come back May 7th to see the Mill in action. We toured the Bethany Church and then headed to the Brick Street Grill for lunch. We were sad to learn they did not have Swedish Meat Balls and that the place will be closing soon. However, they offered a great buffet and we took it all in.
After lunch we walked to the Red Barn Museum and got there in time for a tour. Very interesting and we learned about Raymer and appreciated more of what we saw uptown and in the Sandzén Gallery. We followed that with a visit to the Birger Sandzén Gallery where our friends purchased a painting that was on display.
We had a great time looking over the [Wild Dala] herd and then trying to guess what the caption might be. Lots of laughs and creativity was shared as we enjoyed the painted Dala horses.
We paused for refreshment break and headed for Coronado Heights. Lots of visitors there and it is good to see it in use. There were little ones climbing all over the castle and the rocks. Finally your directions led us directly to the Höglund Dugout. The dugout had water in it. That stimulated discussion about how did they keep water out and the additional challenges of a dugout. We arrived back in Lindsborg a little after 4:30 p.m. We sat and visited for a short time and all four of us were tired. We each departed for home with a good visit of 7 hours together.
We thank you for your help in putting together a great day, a day of memories and togetherness. Gary and Jane had never been to Lindsborg before and indicated they definitely are planning on a return trip. We spent some money but it was a very affordable adventure. We hope that Lindsborg can continue to be a great place to meet friends and a destination place for travelers.

Greetings and Salutations!
My great-grandfather immigrated from Kristianstad, Sweden before WWI. My grandfather was raised in Swedish-American traditions, then my father, and the stories fell to me. My husband knows how important being Swedish is as well as learning about my Swedish heritage. For my birthday in 2009, my husband surprised me with a trip to Lindsborg; which, up until then, I had never heard of. Our serendipitous lodging was Seasons of the Fox; Fox is my mother's maiden name. We stayed in a wondrous place filled with both Dalas and Foxes - perfect! Throughout our weekend, we shopped, went to Helmsjold, toured the countryside, went to Coronado Heights, and had a magnificently wonderful weekend. We also attended the Valentine's social at the Sandzen Gallery, from which I discovered a new favorite artist. At the social, I saw a community well knit with camaraderie, joy, friendship, and laughter. Everyone was incredibly pleasant and wonderful which made the event even better. That weekend was one of the best "mini" vacations I have ever had in my life and I cannot wait to return (but when the weather is warmer and leaves are on the trees). Lindsborg reminded me of the Swedish communities back home in Minnesota and I truly loved every minute of it.

A State Certified Travel Information Center is open 24 hours a day at 114 North Main.
