Välkommen to Lindsborg! Lindsborg is located just off I-135 in central Kansas and is alive with heritage, artists, music, shopping, outstanding healthcare, K-12 education and Bethany College. All of these together with small town charm and hospitality make Lindsborg a great destination to visit or to call home.
Founded by Swedish immigrants over one hundred and forty years ago, Lindsborg remembers its Swedish heritage through folk dancing and celebrations annually by participating in events such as, Midsummer’s Festival, and Lucia Festival. Svensk Hyllningsfest is held bi-annually. Our residents, of all ages, venture out during these celebrations to remember our Swedish roots and also to share the experience with others. Lindsborg has earned the name, “Little Sweden USA”.
Education is also high on our priorities list. Unified School District 400 offers K-12 learning with extra opportunities in the arts and technology. Bethany College completes the town and gown partnership by offering bachelor degrees and opportunities for the students and community to interact such as the 132nd annual Messiah Festival of the Arts during Holy Week which was held in March of 2013.
Our city's unique identity is strongly rooted in our people. Residents share their talents in our shops and irreplaceable dining establishments. Others serve in our critical care hospital/clinic and long term care home. On behalf of my fellow Lindsborg residents, thank you for visiting our community and one day we hope you might consider it your home.
