  1. Red Barn Studio Artist-in-Residence: Laura Baker - the Pie Maker and Artist

July 7 - July 15 @ The Red Barn Studio

The Red Barn Studio museum is welcoming back Laura Baker, the pie-maker (and artist), from Saturday, July 7th until Sunday, July 15th. While at the Red Barn Studio, Laura Baker plans to devote her time painting and illustrating pies, whole and slices, from photographs of her own baked creations. “My residency project is to work on the publication of Volume 1 of the ‘Art of Pie’ cookbook. For a busy, working (architect) mom of 3, the Red Barn Studio, surrounded by Lester Raymer’s amazing art is a welcome oasis.” Laura Baker will also be a source of inspiration in the Lindsborg community during her stay by participating in Makers Street, the Lindsborg Art Walk, and hosting a workshop!

  4. Lindsborg City Jazz Band Concert

July 13, 8:00 PM @ Red Barn Studio

Throughout the United States, band shells can be found in city parks serving as the park’s anchor or main attraction. These structures were home to many town band concerts, ice-cream socials and community gatherings. Band shells served as the entertainment hub of a community. However, with the advent of technology (radios, televisions, computers and the internet) many town bands have faded into the past and can only be found in the pages of history books. Lindsborg is countering that trend with the Lindsborg City Band. To learn more about, or express an interest in playing with, the Lindsborg City Band email director Adam Keller at akeller@smokyvalley.org or call 620-200-3750
