  1. Jim Richardson Exhibit on the Scottish Highlands

    April 14, 10:00 AM - July 31, 5:00 PM

Richardson assembled the exhibit from his visual story about the future of Scotland's moorlands for National Geographic Magazine in its May 2017 issue, which pops up on newsstands and in mailboxes in April. The show will be on display at Small World through July 31. Of his 31 stories for National Geographic Magazine, this is Richardson's seventh on a topic involving Scottish culture or landscapes. For National Geographic TRAVELER Magazine, he has photographed Scotland's single malt whisky country, its islands and skerries, the cross-country Royal Scotsman rail experience, and the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. He has delivered keynote addresses and taught workshops in British and Irish Isles over many years.

  3. Rodger Gerberding Artist-In-Residence

    June 20, 10:00 AM - July 8, 5:00 PM

Gerberding’s focus while at the Red Barn Studio will be to begin a commissioned graphic novel, and to paint new paintings exploring a Lindsborg theme. During another residency at the Red Barn, he will be working on Letters by Lester Raymer. He will start his Raymer “Letter Show” during his June residency. Roger Gerberding studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Academy of Fine Art and the Goodman School of Drama. While educated as an illustrator and an art historian, as an artist he is a renaissance man in every sense of the word. In addition to his substantial gallery credits, his creative work beyond the gallery setting has included a wide variety of projects and media – from magazine and book illustration, to literary criticism, poetry, acting and teaching. Gerberding’s art has been collected by the Art Institute of Chicago, the Minnesota Historical Society…and privately by the late Patty Duke, Kat Von D., Judy Collins, Dick Cavett, Stephen King, and numerous others.
