  1. Jim Richardson Exhibit on the Scottish Highlands

    April 14, 10:00 AM - July 31, 5:00 PM

Richardson assembled the exhibit from his visual story about the future of Scotland's moorlands for National Geographic Magazine in its May 2017 issue, which pops up on newsstands and in mailboxes in April. The show will be on display at Small World through July 31. Of his 31 stories for National Geographic Magazine, this is Richardson's seventh on a topic involving Scottish culture or landscapes. For National Geographic TRAVELER Magazine, he has photographed Scotland's single malt whisky country, its islands and skerries, the cross-country Royal Scotsman rail experience, and the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. He has delivered keynote addresses and taught workshops in British and Irish Isles over many years.

Of her residency she says, “I am/will be working on a group of related art works exploring pain-physical, emotional, psychological pain…I am attempting to capture its fugitive state in a sequence of large, representational assemblages. The overall title of the collection will be ‘54 Units of Harm.’ I envision ten to twelve pieces in this series. Only two pieces are complete…Process is very important to me in any form, so I will value having interaction with visitors who come to the studio while I am working.”
