  2. Brain D'Ambrosio Artist-In-Residence/Workshop Included

    February 18, 10:00 AM - April 18, 5:00 PM

    Author, poet and journalist Brian D’Ambrosio, Helena, Montana, will host a self-publishing writing workshop to be held on 3 Thursdays, beginning Feb 23, Mar 2 and Mar 9, 6PM to 8PM $35 members, $50 nonmembers, max 4 students min 2 students at the Lindsborg library. Brian D’Ambrosio is the author of more than 10 books and his articles have been published in local, regional and national publications. D’Ambrosio’s favorite journalistic subjects are history, music, architecture, biography, boxing, NHL “tough guys,” photography, forgotten inventors and obscure American poets and authors. He will use his residency as an inspiring opportunity to “hone” and complete a book of poems about traveling in Nicaragua, and other places (the collection is titled “Shot by a Poet”) and another book called “Troubadour Truths,” a collection of interviews with “Americana” musicians such as Lucinda Williams.

  3. Makers Street: 2nd Friday Art Walk

    March 10, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    212 S. Main, will host a reception for author, poet and journalist Brian D’Ambrosio of Helena, Montana. During the reception, he will be on hand to discuss projects he is working on. On display will be his “rustscape” photography of rusted vehicles, emblems and buildings. “The rustscape photos consist of car emblems, insignias, grills, headlights, license plates, and vehicle carcasses captured in all 50 states and a number of countries. While most of the photos concentrate on vehicles ‘rusting in peace,’ some photos feature the signage and text of abandoned and neglected structures, including southern cotton mills and western ghost towns.” Brian D’Ambrosio will be at the Red Barn Studio Museum through Tuesday, April 18. His next and last Artwalk will be Friday, April 14 when he will also discuss “outsider artists” of Kansas. For more information please contact raymer@redbarnstudio.org or 785 227-2217.
