  1. CITY-WIDE CLEAN UP DAY - FOR LINDSBORG RESIDENTS ONLY

    September 23, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ 1111 E Swensson

    City-Wide Clean-Up Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 8 Am - noon at city site (formerly know as the Tree Station) 1111 E Swensson. Househould Hazardous Waste materials WILL NOT be taken. HHW drop off is available for McPherson County residents at McPherson Area Solid Waste Utility C&D Landfill located at 1481 Pueblo Road, McPherson, KS. Hours of operation for the Landfill are: Thursdays 9 AM to 3:30 PM - closed on holidays that fall on Thursdays. If more information is needed please call 620-654-3793.   1. New Exhibits at the Sandzen Art Gallery

    August 5, 10:00 AM - October 31, 5:00 PM

    New exhibitions open at the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery on Saturday, August 5, 2017, with a reception that evening from 5 to 7 p.m. and artist talks beginning at 5:30. Featured shows include paintings by Mike Hartung of Lindsborg and Ernest Vincent Wood III of Wichita. Additional exhibitions include works by early Estes Park, Colorado, artist Dean Babcock; Swedish prints from the Powers Collection; and a juried show of Kansas Artist Craftsmen Association members.

  2. Barbara O'Leary Artist-In-Residence

    September 1, 1:00 PM - September 23, 5:00 PM

    Oil painter, illustrator and watercolorist Barbara O’Leary, of Shawnee, Kansas, will be the Artist-in-Residence Friday, Sept 1st through Saturday, Sept 23 at the Red Barn Studio Museum, 212 S. Main, Lindsborg. She says, “I am looking forward to working on landscapes of local parks, countryside and streets in town, both in the Kansas City area and in the Lindsborg area, which I have been planning for a while.” For more information, contact The Red Barn Studio Museum at raymer@redbarnstudio.org, 785 227-2217. The Red Barn Studio is open Tues through Fri, 10AM to 5PM and Sat and Sun, 1PM to 5PM and by appt.

  4. Plein Air Class

    September 23, 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

    Barbara has been teaching classes (through the Johnson County Park and Recreation Department) for adults, seniors and youngsters, both in the basics of drawing and painting methods. “I am anxious to work outside part of the time and therefore, I would like to have classes in plein air for students, 12 yrs of age through adults on Saturdays, Sept 2nd, Sept 9th, Sept 16th and Sept 23rd from 9:30AM to 12PM.” Cost per class is $100 members and $125 non-members. Participants need to provide their own supplies for the medium that they will be working in: 2D in graphite colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic or oil. Min number of students per class, 3, max number 9.

  5. Elementary Swedish Class

    September 25, All Day

    Is learning Swedish on your bucket list? Put it off no longer! Gretchen Esping will be offering beginning Swedish in the Swedish Heritage Room at the Lindsborg Community Library beginning Monday, September 18, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. The course will proceed in a very natural way, just as a child first learns to make sounds, then to speak, followed by reading and writing. Each evening will also include a fika paus (coffee break) halfway through the evening. There will also be a bit of homework each week as well!
